As a child upon coming to America from Anguilla (which is north east of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands), my system was very sensitive to the foods and environment of this country. For a few years after arriving in America, I could not eat most of the food (mainly packaged and canned goods); I would violently vomit if I ate a bowl of boxed cereal. I guess you could call it culture shock; I had no challenge with whole foods (fruits, vegetables, meats and bulk grains), you see; back home in Anguilla we ate everything fresh, out of the ground or off the trees. Perhaps this is what perked my interest in whole health nutrition. It has been a great passion of mine for as long as I can remember, so naturally I have gravitated towards a career where I can learn and grow in such a way so as to allow me to help others.
